NJ Tax Assessor Charged With Child Porn Possession: Prosecutor

The tax assessor of a North Jersey city has been charged with child pornography possession, authorities said.

HUNTERDON COUNTY - The tax assessor of a North Jersey city has been charged with child pornography possession, authorities said.

Richard Carmosino, 70, of Lambertville, was arrested and charged on Thursday following an investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said in a statement.

The third-degree possession of child pornography change stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (MCMEC), Robeson said.

Carmosino is currently employed as the tax assessor in Lambertville. The incident was not connected to Carmosino’s employment, Robeson said.

Carmosino has since been lodged in the Warren County Jail pending his first court appearance.
