Back-to-School Nights, More This Week

A quick look at some of what's going on in Fort Lee this week

Below is a quick look at five things you should know about this week and/or might not want to miss:

Number one:

The Fort Lee School District is holding the second two of six back-to-school nights this week Monday, when School No. 1 and School No. 3 have theirs at their respective buildings starting at 7 p.m.

Number three:

And finally Thursday concludes a half-week of back-to-school nights, when Fort Lee High School and the Fort Lee Early Childhood Center have their own—each at their own facility, and each starting at 7 p.m.

Note: Early dismissal days are only for school buildings scheduled for back-to-school nights on each of these days. Lewis F. Cole Middle School held its own back-to-school-nights for seventh and eighth graders last week. Visit the Fort Lee Public Schools’ website for more information.

Number four

The regular public meeting of the Fort Lee Board of Adjustment, originally scheduled for Monday evening, has been canceled due to the “lack of an agenda,” according to officials. The next regular public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall’s council chambers.

Number five:

And the Fort Lee Mayor and Council will meet Thursday at Borough Hall’s second-floor conference room for an executive session starting at 7 p.m. Executive sessions typically commence with a motion for closed session so members of the public wishing to attend should plan on showing up at about 8 p.m. unless the borough announces otherwise. The agenda for the executive session will be available on the borough’s website as the meeting date gets a little closer or in hard copy at Borough Hall by mid-Wednesday afternoon.
