ALL SEASONS CHAMBER PLAYERS

The All Seasons Chamber Players, one of New Jersey’s most popular and active chamber music ensembles, will perform its new fall program on Sunday, November 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fort Lee Public Library. This concert will mark the kick-off to the Library’s Holiday Concert series which will run on select Sundays in November and December.

The program, entitled “Vive La France!” will feature chamber music for flute, violin, cello, piano and piano duet by French composers from the baroque period to the 20th century. It will include Jean-Marie Leclair’s Trio Sonata in D Major, Gabriel Faure’s delightful Dolly Suite for Piano Duet, Francois Poulenc’s famous Sonata for Flute and Piano and Maurice Ravel’s challenging Piano Trio in A Minor, one of the great works of the piano trio literature. Robert Lawrence, Co-Director for Programs, will introduce each piece to the audience with entertaining spoken program notes.

Now in its 31st season, the All Seasons Chamber Players has performed over 650 live concerts in the metropolitan area. In addition, thousands of people have heard the ensemble on Cablevision’s MetroArts/13 programs, Comcast, WTT-35 and other local cable stations. Winner of the Award for Artistic Excellence from the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, the ensemble has also received grants from several corporations, foundations and over 150 members of Friends of All Seasons.

Performers are professional musicians who also play with major area orchestras, Broadway shows and summer music festivals. Performers will include Brenda Sakofsky, flute; Robert Lawrence, violin; E. Zoe Hassman, cello; Jean Strickholm, piano and Ron Levy, Associate Artist, piano.

Ron Levy, a resident of Teaneck, is familiar to many area residents through his performances with the Palisades Virtuosi and area orchestras. He is currently an instructor at Montclair State University and the Ridgewood Conservatory of Music. In 2008 Mr. Levy played in St. Petersberg, Russia and he also performed at the Stratford Music Festival. Recordings by Mr. Levy are available on the Albany, Centaur, Eroica, Koch International, MMF and High Point labels.

This concert is one of 15 free, public Community Concerts for Bergen County supported by the Bank of America Foundation and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Additional support is provided by the Frank & Lydia Bergen Foundation, the Verizon Foundation, Columbia Savings Bank, Lillian P. Schenck Fund, Target, Shop Rite of Hackensack, the Bloomingdale’s Fund of the Macy’s Foundation and over 150 members of Friends of All Seasons.
