This Week: Testing, Taxes, Meetings and Sports

Here is a look at five things you should know about and/or might not want to miss this week:

Number one:

It’s a testing week in Fort Lee schools. At the high school, students will take AP tests, according to the school district. In the elementary schools, students in grades three, four and five will take the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJ ASK) test, while sixth, seventh and eight graders will have makeup testing for the NJ ASK. You can now pay your property taxes online via the borough’s website. It takes just a few minutes, according to the borough, and you can pay by credit card or by check.

  • STEP 2 - Review bill and choose to pay online
  • STEP 3 - Choose Payment Method
  • STEP 4 - Confirm the amount to pay and accept Terms & Conditions
  • STEP 5 - Enter contact and payment information
  • STEP 6 - Confirm details
  • STEP 7 - Digital receipt

Number three:Β 

The Fort Lee Mayor and Council will hold their next regular meeting Thursday at 8 p.m. in Borough Hall’s council chambers. Check the borough’s website as the meeting day approaches for the complete agenda. Agendas will also be available at Borough Hall on Wednesday afternoon.

Other municipal government meetings this week include a Zoning Board meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers and a Board of Health meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Health Department.


Number four:Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 

If you’re interested in high school sports, don’t miss Monday’s baseball game at Fort Lee High School, where the Fort Lee Bridgemen host Cliffside Park at 4 p.m. The Bridgemen also host River Dell High School on Wednesday and Community High School on Thursday. All games are scheduled for 4 p.m. The no longer undefeated boys tennis team is also in action at home on Monday, when they take on Cliffside Park, and on Wednesday, when they play host to River Dell High School. Both matches are slated for 4 p.m. The Lady Bridgemen softball team takes to the road Monday and Wednesday, but they will be at home on Tuesday and Thursday, when they host Hawthorne High School and Ridgefield Park respectively. Tuesday’s game starts at 4:15 p.m., and Thursday’s first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Number Five:

And don’t forget next Sunday, when Cliffside Park and Fort Lee team up with the Diabetes Foundation to hostΒ the third annual β€œRun the Palisades” 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair.

Runners begin at Cliffside Park High School and run through Cliffside Park and Fort Lee. Runners of all ages are welcome and walkers are encouraged to register as well. Awards will be given out in a variety of categories for all ages.

The Health Fair takes place inside the Cliffside Park High School from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to all.
