Officers later went to an address in the 500 block of Hillside Avenue, where they said they found the Honda Pilot in the driveway.

They spoke with the owner of the car, Eulalio G. Castro, who initially denied striking the pedestrian and provided false information, police said. Castro later recanted his statements and confessed to the hit-and-run, according to police.

Castro was issued multiple summonses and was charged with hindering apprehension and endangering an injured victim. He is to appear in municipal court Aug. 2.
