Kids’ Spring Has Sprung Hands On Nature Program
When/Where: Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; $4 members/$5 non-members; Meadowlands Environmental Center, Two DeKorte Plaza, Lyndhurst.

Why Go: A hands-on chance to explore spring's flowers, insects and eggs. Great for the budding naturalist.
Palisades Interstate Park Hike for Dogs & Their Owners to "Cape Fly Away"

When/Where: Saturday 10 a.m. Meet Guide Christina Fehre at the Kearney House at Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). About 3.5 miles, 2 hrs. Dogs must be leashed.
Why Go: A great way for you and your dog to exercise. Also a great way to meet people. You don’t need a dog to take the hike.
Joan Angela D'Alessandro Foundation Yard & Tent Sale
When/Where: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; D’Alessandro Home, 45 Florence Street, Hillsdale.
Why Go: To raise funds for the foundation in memory of Joan D’Alessandro, the Girl Scout who was murdered while selling cookies to neighbors in 1973.
When/Where: Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday to 4 p.m.; Fort Lee Public Library, 320 Main Street, Fort Lee.
Why Go: Books, DVDs, VHSs, CDs and more! Spend $10 and get a free reusable environmentally friendly bag.
When/Where: Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 8 houses and museums throughout Northwest Bergen County; tickets can be purchased from Abma’s Farm or the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn.
Why Go: Step back in time to see how our Bergen County ancestors lived.
Free Crafts for Kids: Let's Dance Streamer
When/Where: Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Lakeshore Learning Center, 449 Essex Street, Hackensack.
Why Go: What two words make both parents and children happy? Free and crafts.
Seasonal Scavenger Hunt at Tenafly Nature Center
When/Where: Drop in anytime between 2 to 4 p.m.; must register; Tenafly Nature Center, 313 Hudson Ave, Tenafly.
Why Go: Families working together hunting for more than just dad’s lost keys? And the chance to compete against other families to win a prize!
Palisades Interstate Park “Spring Scavenger Hunt for Children” Guided hike for children with Christina Fehre
When/Where: Saturday 2 to 4 p.m.; Free; State Line Lookout in Alpine (northbound PIP opposite Exit 3).
Why Go: Because Christina is such a fun guide and kids (and parents) are sure to have a great time!
Fort Lee's 2011 Spring Cliffhanger: HBO's "The Pacific"
When/Where: Saturday to 9 p.m.; Free; Fort Lee Community Center,1355 Inwood Terrace, Fort Lee.
Why Go: Because it’s Armed Forces Day!
When/Where: Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m.; Bergen County Players, 298 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell.
Why Go: To quote the BCP website, “…a black comedy about white trash.”
Puffin Jazz: The Yaala Ballin Quartet
When/Where: Saturday 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Puffin Cultural Forum, 20 Puffin Way, Teaneck.
Why Go: Jazz from the roaring 20s to the swinging 50s for $10. Talk about a great date night!
When/Where: Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; County Road School, County Road, Demarest.
Why Go: One of the oldest and most popular annual runs in Bergen County.
Sunday Funday at Tenafly Nature Center
When/Where: Sunday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; $30 per adult/child pair; additional family member $15 per person; Tenafly Nature Center, 313 Hudson Avenue, Tenafly.
Why Go: Explore the trails and do a nature craft.
Palisades Interstate Park “The Giant Stairs” Guided Hike
When/Where: Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Meet Christina Fehre at State Line Lookout in Alpine (northbound PIP opposite Exit 3).
Why Go: A real challenge for experienced hikers—climb real boulders—not the ones inside your gym!
When/Where: Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Free; Entrance on Route 9W in Tenafly.
Why Go: Because Visitor’s Day is the only day you don’t need a key to get in. (Only members have keys to access this nature sanctuary.)
Bergen County Historical Society’s Pinkster Fest
When/Where: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; $7 adults/ $5 children; members free. Historic New Bridge Landing, 1201-1209 Main St., River Edge.
Why Go: A colonial Dutch celebration of spring!
“Short Stories for Long Days” at the Kearney House
When/Where: Sunday 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; $3 per child; reservations recommended; Kearney House, Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area, Exit 2 off PIP.
Why Go: A late afternoon of 19th century children’s story told in an authentic 19th century house on the Hudson? Kids love it!
