BMW Smashes Into Linwood Avenue Garage

A BMW crashed into a Linwood Avenue garage on Saturday afternoon, cracking and knocking out some of the brickwork around the structure.

Fort Lee police closed down four blocks of Linwood Avenue after the incident and Fort Lee firefighters installed supports for the two-family home.

Fort Lee Fire Chief Keith Sabatino said the BMW apparently collided with another car and then crashed into an AC unit at a home across the street before striking the garage.

Sabatino said he recommended that residents not stay in the home until it is repaired.

The driver was out of the car and talking with police minutes after the crash, Sabatino said.

Further information about the accident was not available from police on Sunday.
