Sandy in Fort Lee: Schools, Government Offices Closed

All borough offices are closed, but emergency services are at the ready and the office of the Fort Lee Emergency Management is available.

Hurricane Sandy’s strongest impact is expected to hit Monday through Tuesday. Dangerous winds and heavy rain is possible, and officials are urging residents to stay indoors and prepare for possible days long power outages.

All borough offices are closed Monday as are Fort Lee schools.

The Fort Lee Planning Board’s meeting, scheduled for Monday at 7:30 p.m. has been cancelled because of the storm in addition to the Fort Lee Board of Education’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Emergency services will be on call and will be dispatched as needed, said borough administrator Peggy Thomas in a statement on the borough’s website.
