Something To Say? Blog On Patch

Fort Lee Patch  is still looking for bloggers to join our growing community of blog writers in our "Local Voices" section. Readers should already be familiar with some of the borough's residents blogging and sharing their thoughts on various subjects. 

We invite you to join them!

Do you have a special interest that you would like to share with others? Perhaps you are an avid fisherman, artist, foodie, an avid reader or fitness guru. Why not blog about it? Perhaps you want to be the voice of your local organization and want to blog frequently about upcoming activities.

If you are interested in joining your fellow blogging neighbors here are some more details:

What are we looking for? We don't have a lot of hard requirements outside of this: It's got to be interesting and relevant to Fort Lee residents.

Maybe you're talking about our local politics. Maybe you're spreading news about community projects. Maybe you're the local authority on a certain topic, with the credentials to back it up. Do you have a perspective on how the community has changed over the years? Want a place to showcase your great photos from around town? Need a de-facto online newsletter for your community group? Do you have favorite recipes to share or books to recommend? All of those sound like contenders to us.

What do you need to do? Write as often (or not so often) as you like. Don't worry, we won't change your voice in your blog posts. The entries will be reviewed for quality and edited for spelling, grammar and style. But remember, opinions are what we're after, particularly well-thought-out ones, backed up with facts. However the blog isn't a place for personal insults, unfounded claims and defamation.

What's in it for you? Sorry, you might get fame, but not fortune, from your Patch blog. So here's the deal: We get the privilege of hosting your valuable views. You get to put them on a site that's increasingly (we hope) serving as a community hub, where more and more people will have the opportunity to discover your entries all the time. And since we're part of the Huffington Post Media Group, we may occasionally be able to put your submission in front of a much larger audience.
