Suspected Human Remains Found At Palisades Interstate Park: Cops
Bones were found in a bag Monday morning that was left hanging on the door of the Stateline Lookout snack stand.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A bag containing suspected human bones was found at the Stateline Lookout snack stand in Alpine Monday morning, authorities said.
Employees found the bag hanging on the door when they showed up for work at 8 a.m., said Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. They noticed that what was inside the bag appeared to be bones and called the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department.
Police looked and determined the bones were similar to those of a human, Musella said. They contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cold Case Unit and the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office to begin an investigation.
