20-Year-Old Victim Identified In Fatal Freehold Township Crash

The Howell resident died following the Dec. 9 crash, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The 20-year-old victim of a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Freehold Township has been identified, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Spokesman Christopher Swendeman said.

Yasine Belkadi, 20, of Howell, was driving north on Jackson Mills Road the night of Dec. 9 when he collided with a Ford transit van, Swendeman said.

As the two vehicles collided, another vehicle driving south behind the van was caught in the crash and sideswiped the van’s passenger side, prosecutors said.

Belkadi was rushed to a local hospital and succumbed to his injuries the following morning, Swendeman said. The two other drivers were brought to separate hospitals with moderate injuries.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no charges or summonses have been issued.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and the Freehold Township Police Department are investigating the incident.
