AAUW to Feature Cellular Pioneer

A look at events happening in Freehold on Thursday October 10, 2013.

The Freehold Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is scheduled to meet on the first of what looks to be several rainy days in our area.

Speaking at the October meeting of the local AAUW branch will be Dick Frenkel who worked at developing cellular technology at Bell Labs. For his work Frenkel was given the National Medal of Technology from former President Bill Clinton and also received the National Academy of Engineering’s Draper Prize. The meeting will be held at the Barkalow School located on Stellwells Corner Road.

The rain held off on Wednesday but Thursday looks to be a wet one with a chance of coastal flooding closer to the ocean. The high for the day is expected to be around 64 with close to three quarters of an inch of rain expected to fall during the day. Thursday night the low is expected to be around 56 with just as much if not more rain expected to fall.
