MILLSTONE, NJ — The body of an NJ man was recovered from Millstone Park on Saturday after authorities said he fell through the ice while walking his dogs.
Around 5 p.m. on Friday, NJ State Police Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron said troopers responded to Millstone Park for a report of a dog stuck on a lake.
Troopers and members of the Millstone Fire Department were able to rescue the dog when Lebron said the troopers noticed footprints and dog prints leading to the lake.

From there, authorities saw a jacket and hat lying at the lake’s edge, which led onto the ice and toward a fresh break. Further investigation then determined that a man had taken his two dogs for a walk but hadn’t returned.
Though authorities searched the area and water on Friday, Lebron said the search was suspended that night due to water conditions.

When the search continued Saturday morning, Lebron said the body of Michael Rosen, 78, of Millstone, was recovered. The second of the two dogs has not been found, according to a report from NJ Advance Media.
The investigation is ongoing, Lebron said, and no additional information is currently available.
