Freehold Resident Faces Burglary, Harassment Charges

Drug charge also stems from arrest.

A Freehold resident is facing several charges stemming from an incident in the borough earlier this month.

Miguel Santiago-Mateo, 24, of Broad Street was arrested and allegedly found with a small clear plastic bag containing suspected cocaine. Santiago-Mateo was also charged with burglary for allegedly entering an apartment on Broad Street and harassing the female occupant, according to court documents. He allegedly put his hand over her mouth after entering the apartment through an open window.

He was also charged with resisting arrest after trying to pull away from the officers and attempting to kick them, according to court records.

The Freehold resident also faces a charge of obstructing arrest after allegedly pretending to be asleep and then using profanities when officers approached him as part of their investigation.
