Broken Utility Pole Closes South Street In Freehold Township

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A broken utility pole has closed part of Route 79 (South Street) in both directions, Freehold Township Police said.

The road is currently closed between the Route 33 Bypass and Route 33 Business (Park Avenue), police said.

Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area while JCP&L makes repairs, and to plan an alternate route since this may affect the evening rush hour.
