Candidates File To Run In Freehold Borough Council Election
Two incumbent Democrats, two Republican challengers file to run for two open Freehold Borough Council seats.

FREEHOLD BOROUGH, NJ — Two Democrats and two Republicans have filed for the two open seats on the Freehold Borough Council.
Monday at 4 p.m. was the deadline for candidates to file nominating petitions for local office in the June 4 primary election.
Filing were incumbent members of the Borough Council Democrats Sharon Shutzer and Annette Jordan, Freehold officials said.

Filing to run as Republicans were Ricky Gartz and Autumn Nonnenmacher. Gartz and Nonnenmacher also ran for election last year, for mayor and council respectively.
June 4 is the primary election, although there is not a municipal office contest. Nov. 5 is the general election.

Here are some key dates for voters:
- April 10: Deadline to change party affiliation to vote in Primary Election.
- April 20: Mailing of mail-in ballots begins.
- May 14: Voter Registration Deadline for Primary Election (21 days before election).
- May 22: Sample ballots mailed to voters.
- May 29 to June 2: Early Voting period.
- June 4: Primary Election Day.
