Cause Not Determined In Freehold Township Medical Building Fire
Freehold Township fire officials say the cause of the fire at Millennium Eye Care remains under investigation.
FREEHOLD TOWSHIP, NJ — Fire officials are still mum on a possible cause of the fire at a medical building here on Monday.
"Since this is an active investigation, we can not comment at this time," said Shaun M. Reilly, Freehold Township Fire Official.
Area firefighters responded to a fire that broke out Monday morning at 500 W. Main St. The fire was at a one-story medical facility that houses Millennium Eye Care. Traffic was snarled in the busy Route 537 area as the fire was being fought.

The building sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported, Freehold Township police said Monday.
Police also said the cause of the fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious.

Patients of the eye care practice will be notified about appointments, but the site is temporarily closed, according to a News 12 report.
