‘Code Blue’ Alert Extended In Monmouth County: Where To Find Shelter
Cold weather is expected to continue in the coming days. Here's where you can access warming centers in Monmouth County:
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A “Code Blue” alert has been extended throughout Monmouth County, keeping warming centers and shelters open to those in need.
“Code Blue” is put in place when temperatures drop below freezing (32°F), and conditions pose a threat to unsheltered individuals.
According to Monmouth County Government, the current “Code Blue” alert is in effect now until 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, for Monmouth County.

If you or someone you know does not have shelter, here’s where they can go:
- Monmouth County Division of Social Services: 3000 Kozloski Road, Freehold (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Hope and Comfort Center: 166-168 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank (Check-in begins at 5 p.m.)
- Mercy Center: 901 Main Street, Asbury Park (Drop-in warming center, mobility-challenged individuals only)
- The Feast NJ, Women’s Heart Warming Center: 90 Maple Avenue, Red Bank (Check-in before 4 p.m.)
- Trinity Episcopal Church: 503 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Lunch Break Inc: 121 Drs James Parker Blvd., Red Bank (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Monmouth County Library – Manalapan: 125 Symmes Dr., Manalapan (Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Monmouth County Library – Shrewsbury: 101 Route 35, Shrewsbury (Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
