Downtown Freehold Starts Festivities Next Week

Menorah and tree lighting set for Monday and Tuesday.

There may not be a football game to watch in Freehold on Thanksgiving Day but the downtown area will jump into the holiday spirit next week with the return of some traditional favorites.

The fun starts on Monday with the lighting of the menorah in front of the Hall of Records. The festivities are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the rotunda. The next night the Monmouth County Christmas tree is set to be lit at the same location. As with Monday the festivities are set to start at 5 p.m. and the rain date for both is set for Wednesday.

With the Christmas Tree lit that sets the table for the arrival of Santa Claus at the PBA Santa Train on December 14. The man in the red suit is scheduled to be at the Freehold Bus Station at noon until 2 p.m. as the guest of the Freehold Borough PBA Local 159 and Conrail.
