DWI Checkpoint Planned Friday Night In Freehold Twp.

The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will direct drivers on Route 9 to Juniper Plaza in a sobriety checkpoint.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be conducting a checkpoint on Friday night, Aug. 4, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. in Freehold Twp.

All northbound vehicles on Route 9 will be diverted into the Juniper Plaza, the county Task Force said.

There will also be a second checkpoint on Saturday night, Aug. 5, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. in Keyport. All southbound vehicles on Route 36 will be diverted into the Stop & Shop plaza, authorities said.

During both checkpoints, officers from the local towns will work alongside Task Force members to determine the sobriety of all drivers, according to Chief Michael Schneider, Allenhurst, coordinator of the Monmouth County DWI Task Force.

He said the checks are made in an ongoing effort to deter impaired driving.
