Empanada Guy To Host Grand Opening For New Freehold Location

FREEHOLD, NJ — The grand opening for Empanada Guy's new Freehold storefront is set to take place over the weekend.

From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Empanada Guy will celebrate the grand opening of their new store at 552 Park Avenue, Freehold.

The celebration comes a couple of months after Empanada Guy announced that they were closing their Freehold restaurant so they could reopen a few doors down in the same plaza.

Though the restaurant's grand opening will take place on Saturday, the storefront will also be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the days leading up to the event (Tuesday through Friday), officials said.

“It’s finally here — our GRAND OPENING week in Freehold!” the restaurant said in an online post. “Come celebrate, grab your favorite empanadas, and see what’s new at our brand new restaurant!”

Started in 2012, Empanada Guy is one of the fastest-growing gourmet food trucks and restaurants in the U.S., officials said.

The brand specializes in empanadas and other traditional Latin dishes, and their red trucks can often be seen at events all over New Jersey (including at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets, which is only a short drive away from their new Freehold location).

“We are the face of our product and the answer to the much-needed Latin fast food industry,” Empanada Guy said on their website.

“Empanada Guy will be a household name because, subliminally, we have captivated all cultures," the statement continued. "If you hear it once, you’ll hear it one hundred times…'Chase Your Dreams, NOT Your Problems!’”

At Empanada Guy, menu options range from beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas to pulled pork, Mexican Chorizo, vegetable, apple cinnamon and even a seasonal lobster empanada.

Customers can also order a Cuban Sandwich, churros, and choose from sides ranging from white rice and beans to tostones and yuca fritters.
