Expect Detours Next Week For County Road Work In Howell, Freehold Twp.
Road improvements to begin in Halls Mill Road, Elton-Adelphia areas Aug. 15; detours will be set up for motorists, Monmouth County says.
FREEHOLD, NJ –Drivers can expect some detours next week as final paving and striping operations to Halls Mill Road and County Route 524 (Elton Adelphia Road) in Freehold Township and Howell Township take place on or about Aug. 15, the Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering announced.
The work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weather permitting,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to Department of Public Works and Engineering, in a statement Friday.
“The county anticipates that all lanes and traffic operations will be available by Labor Day but in the meantime, a full detour, which will include Route 33 and Route 9 will be available."

He said access to homes and businesses within the project site will be available at all times during the operations.
Monmouth County maintains approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons, the county said in a news release.
