Freehold Borough Police To Host National Night Out Event Tuesday
Freehold's annual police-community event will take place at the Hall of Records parking lot.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Freehold Borough National Night Out event will be Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Hall of Records parking lot.
The community can meet Freehold police officers and members of the Freehold Fire Department and Freehold EMS. There will be a K-9 demonstration and representatives from the Monmouth County Sheriffs Office.
For free fun for kids, there will be inflatables, a rock climbing wall, costumed characters and giveaways.

Plus look for ice cream, hot dogs, snacks and refreshments.
National Night Out is held in most states on the first Tuesday of August. It began decades ago with residents turning on porch lights, but it now is a community event.

"National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances," the organization establishing the program says on its website.
