Freehold To Offer Free Substance Use and Mental Health Services

The Freehold Area Health Department and High Focus Treatment Centers have partnered to provide these services to Freehold residents in need.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Freehold Area Health Department and High Focus Treatment Centers have partnered to provide a select number of opportunities for uninsured or underinsured Freehold residents to access substance use disorder and mental health treatment services for free, Freehold Township announced on Sunday.

According to officials, the programs include services such as:

  • Mental health, co-occurring and substance disorder treatment
  • Partial care and intensive outpatient treatment (3-5 days per week)
  • Ages: Adolescents (10-17) and adults

This announcement comes during the beginning of August, which is also Overdose Awareness Month.

According to reports from the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County, Monmouth County lost 135 people to overdoses throughout 2023. From the beginning of January to the end of March in 2024, Monmouth County lost 27 people to overdoses.

“To end the stigma that surrounds mental health and substance use and support our residents and families who have experienced the loss of a loved one, we must unify as a county and act now,” Freehold Township said.

The Freehold Alliance continues to implement comprehensive substance abuse prevention programming for Freehold residents with an emphasis on youth, according to Freehold Township.
