Freehold Residence Damaged In Weekend Fire: Officials

A Freehold home near Route 537 was damaged during a weekend electrical fire, officials said.

FREEHOLD, NJ - A Freehold home near Route 537 was damaged during a weekend electrical fire, officials said.

The Sunday afternoon blaze damaged the rear of the residence, as well as the upstairs of the home, the East Freehold Fire Company said in a statement.

“Engine 16-2-78 stretched a 1 3/4” hand line to the rear of the residence and made a quick knockdown of the fire,” the fire department said.

The fire department thanked mutual aid companies for their quick response to the blaze, including Adelphia Fire Company, Freehold Township Ind. Fire Company No. 1, Freehold Fire Department (Station 15) and the Marlboro Fire Department, as well as Freehold Emergency Medical Services.

It was not immediately clear if there were any reported injuries.

The fire was investigated by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's office and the Freehold Township Fire Bureau.
