Police ID Victim Of 4-Vehicle Crash In Freehold Township

The crash occurred the morning of Jan. 7 at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Siloam Road, authorities said.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Authorities have identified the woman who died following a four-vehicle crash in Freehold Township on Jan. 7.

Joanne Fischer, 73, of Whiting, died after four vehicles collided at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Siloam Road at 9:38 a.m. that morning, police said.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they found Fischer trapped inside her vehicle and severely injured. She was then flown to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased, police said.

A grandmother of six, Fischer is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bernard (Sandy) Fischer, her three beloved children, and other family members, according to her obituary.

The crash is currently under investigation by Patrolman William Sabin and the Freehold Township Police Department's Serious Crash Reconstruction Unit.
