Freehold Small Business Owners Make Connections, Embrace Community
Since starting Simply Clean Power Washing Plus, Joseph Cavaliere and Tiara Montanti said they've strived to help their local community.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Longtime Freehold resident Joseph Cavaliere was working at a car dealership when he came across a power washing trailer in Virginia a few years ago.
Cavaliere, 25, had always wanted to be an entrepreneur. After doing some research and selling his motorcycle, he was able to purchase the trailer he found and bring it back to New Jersey, where he and Tiara Montanti, 23, started their own power-washing business.
First established in 2021, Simply Clean Power Washing Plus offers services ranging from exterior power washing and paver restoration to shrink wrapping and holiday light installation for Freehold residents and the greater Monmouth County area.

Since starting their business, Cavaliere and Montanti said they’ve aimed to make local connections and give back to others.
Whether it’s providing services to a local elementary school, restaurant, or church, the pair said they strive to share their passion with others and connect with community members.

“I love being able to be out in the community and help new homeowners and older homeowners take care of their houses and maintain their homes,” Cavaliere said.
“There’s a lot of people that don’t realize things that happen if you don’t wash, make sure your roofs and your gutters are clean, and things like that,” he continued. “So it’s always nice to educate people and help them keep their investments nice.”
As a longtime Freehold resident, Cavaliere said it’s been rewarding to help the community he grew up in through the business.
Because of his Freehold roots, Montanti added that their work often leads to them running into people that Cavaliere grew up with or went to school with, making it easier to connect with clients.
“It's so rewarding," Montanti said. "Because it’s him growing up in Freehold and speaking to a customer, he can make connections like 'Oh, I know that street, my friend lives there' or we'll end up having customers whose kids he went to school with."
In addition to Simply Clean’s services, Montanti and Cavaliere said they also look to connect with the community members. When it comes to speaking with clients, Montanti said hearing their stories can be the best part of her work.
“I hear from all different backgrounds,” Montanti said. “Whether it’s a single mother trying to take care of her home and make ends meet or someone else — it’s doing what we can to service them and just help them out.”
As Simply Clean continues to grow, the pair said they hope to keep making connections and assist those in their community.
“Being young entrepreneurs can be difficult but it’s definitely a learning experience and it’s very fulfilling,” Montanti said. “Just making connections and talking to people and being able to provide superior service — it allows us to grow, be a part of the community and help other people.”
