Incumbents Projected To Keep Seats On Freehold Twp. Committee: Unofficial Results

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — The polls have closed and unofficial results are rolling in for the 2024 General Election.

In Freehold Township, the Township Committee has been one race catching people’s attention.

According to unofficial results from the Monmouth County Clerk's Office, incumbents Anthony Ammiano and Thomas Cook are projected to maintain their seats on the committee against challenger Michael Murphy, who's running as an independent.

Murphy said he was inspired to run for committee following a dispute with the Pagan Motorcycle Club in his neighborhood.

Freehold Township Committee

  • Anthony J. Ammiano: 12,552
  • Thomas L. Cook: 13,034
  • Michael R. Murphy: 3,404
  • Write-In: 213

In addition to the Township Committee race, there are also three full-term seats open on the Freehold Township Board of Education. Four candidates are competing for those seats, with incumbents Neil Garguilo and Kerry Vendittoli running against Emily Crosby and Todd Caissie.

In Upper Freehold Township, incumbents Stephen Alexander and A. Anthony Garaguso are running unopposed for re-election to the Upper Freehold Township Committee.

On the Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education, incumbents Stacey Blecher, Howard Krieger and Brett Williams are running unopposed for three open seats on the Board.

Vote totals are reported by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office. Results are not official until certified by the Monmouth County Clerk.
