Freehold Township Elementary Schools Collecting Leftover Halloween Candy

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — Not sure what to do with your leftover Halloween candy? Two Freehold Township elementary schools are teaming up to collect the candy for military troops.

Now through Friday, Nov. 14, Marshall W. Errickson and Joseph J. Catena Elementary Schools are accepting candy donations to help spread “sweetness and gratitude to our troops” by collecting the candy for Soldiers’ Angels.

According to the Soldiers’ Angels website, the organization provides aid, comfort, and resources to military, veterans and their families.

Alongside Marshall W. Errickson and Joseph J. Catena Elementary Schools, Soldiers’ Angels is also collecting excess Halloween candy at various locations across the country. A map of all the locations can be found here.

“Thank you so much for your interest in supporting our troops!” the organization said. “They truly appreciate the sweet taste of home when they receive care packages full of candy.”
