Fundraiser Looks To Replace Downed Trees

Following the destruction of trees caused by storms like Hurricane Sandy the Freehold Borough Shade Tree Commission is working to replace the greenery that was toppled by the winds.

The commission is selling "It's Cool to be Shady" shirts for $10 with the money going to buy new trees. There is a replanting fund that the commission has to use for new foliage but there is not enough money in the fund to replace all the downed trees.

This is the first time the commission had held a fundraiser like this and initial results show it has been very successful so far.
