Rita's is again offering free Italian ice to celebrate spring's arrival. And the Dairy Queen in Freehold has a similar deal.

FREEHOLD, NJ — It's a chilly first day of spring, but what does that matter when you can get free Italian ice at Rita's? Or a creamy treat at the Dairy Queen? Or both?
Rita's Italian Ice and Frozen Custard is keeping its tradition of offering free Italian ice on the first day of spring again in 2023, including a new flavor that will be available Monday, which marks the start of spring. Shops are open until 9 p.m.
On March 20, you can also stop by your local DQ location and grab a small cone free of charge.
As the store says, "the iconic curl you crave is 100% free on March 20." All you have to do is show up and order - and you can check out the rest of the menu. Check out your local DQ location at 701 Park Ave, Freehold 07728. The store is open until 9:30 p.m.

All day Monday, Rita's around Monmouth County - including at 47 W. Main St., Freehold - will be serving up the deal. Just show up at your local Rita's to claim the free treat. There's no purchase necessary to get the freebie, nor is there an app needed to get in on the deal.
