Holiday Walking Tour Highlights Freehold's Historic Worship Sites
Freehold's Human Relations Advisory Committee presents a walking - or riding - tour Sunday, Dec. 18, starting at First Baptist Church.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The 2022 Holiday Walking Tour will be this Sunday, Dec. 18, beginning at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 81 W. Main St. The Freehold Borough Human Relations Advisory Committee is hosting the tour.
The walking tour was created to bring awareness to the historic houses of worship of the borough.
Organizers gave special thanks to the Historic Preservation Committee, Recreation Commission and the Unity Coalition of Greater Freehold for their support and participation.

This year's tour begins at the First Baptist Church of Freehold and will visit three other sites along the route, ending at the Crossroads Center at St. Peter’s Church, where refreshments will be served and Blessing Bag donations can be dropped off. Donations can also be dropped off at First Baptist.
Parking is available at the first stop, First Baptist Church. A bus will be available for those with accessibility needs. Please order bus transportation tickets in addition to your general admission ticket in order to use this service. See the Eventbrite site to reserve a spot for the free event.

Those interested in attending can also go to the borough's Facebook page and locate the flyer and scan the QR code to register.
Participants are welcome to drive to the sites too, since they are not concentrated in one area.
Here is the schedule:
- 3 p.m., First Baptist Church, 81 W. Main St.
- 3:30 p.m., New Beginnings Agape, 133 Throckmorton St.
- 4 p.m., Bethel A.M.E., 3 Waterworks Road
- 4:30 p.m., Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church, 11 Ave. A

Donations will be accepted for Blessing Bag Brigade, with drop-off at our first stop (First Baptist) or at Crossroads. Donations can include men's socks, small bottles of water, snack foods and breakfast bars, soap, disposable razors, trial size bottles of shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes, trial size lotion and deodorant, according to organizers.
"We thank you for joining us in this inspirational journey through our town’s past, celebrating the congregations’ presence and contribution to the historical heritage of Freehold Borough," organizers said about the event.
Participants should dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes. Organizers ask that you also follow social distancing etiquette and respect the requests of each house of worship on the tour.
