Mayor's Health Initiative Moves Inside for Fall

Free fitness classes offered at YMCA.

During the summer months Mayor Nolan Higgins used a variety of activities to get residents interested and involved in his Health and Wellness Initiative.

When the weather was warm Higgins held walking tours through the borough, a bike ride into Freehold Township and back and a boating trip on Lake Topanemus. Now that the the weather is getting cooler Mayor Higgins is bringing his goal of helping residents get healthy indoors.

For the past two weeks and continuing forward the mayor is taking part in a “Back to School Means Back to Fitness campaign at the Freehold Borough YMCA. Every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. free workouts will be available at the Center Street facility. The program includes high energy exercises, introducing residents to the latest fitness technology and more.
