MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The polls have closed, and unofficial results have come in for the 2025 Primary Election.
In Monmouth County, the Republican primary race for the Board of County Commissioners has been one race catching people’s attention, with three candidates running for two of the party’s open nomination spots.

Incumbents Thomas Arnone and Dominick “Nick” DiRocco are running for re-election on the board against challenger Katie Kelliher.
Throughout the race, Arnone and DiRocco have named strengthening infrastructure, modernizing county operations and preserving county parks and open spaces as some of their goals if re-elected.

In her candidate profile with Patch, Kelliher named trimming the budget, increasing transparency and moving county commissioner meeting times and locations to be more accessible as some of her goals if elected.
In the Democratic Primary, Vito Colasurdo and Jacquelyn Wenzel are running for the two spots open for their party’s nomination. If elected, they have named protecting green spaces and focusing the budget on things like infrastructure and education as some of their goals.

Board of County Commissioners — Democratic Primary
- Vito Colasurdo: 36,715
- Jacquelyn Wenzel: 39,590
- Write-In: 188
