NJ Leaf In Freehold Gets OK For Adult-Use Retail Cannabis Sales
Freehold cannabis dispensary NJ Leaf will begin recreational sales Wednesday, offering another option for recreational customers in county.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Freehold's medical cannabis dispensary now has the OK to sell recreational cannabis products, the owners announced.
Monmouth Wellness and Healing, operator of the NJ Leaf retail cannabis dispensary in Freehold, was awarded an adult-use cannabis license by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission at the Commission’s meeting on June 1.
This license will allow the dispensary to expand beyond medical cannabis sales and welcome adult-use customers aged 21 and above, the dispensary says.

NJ Leaf opened in March as a medical cannabis dispensary located in the heart of Freehold. It has served over 1,200 medical cannabis patients.
NJ Leaf joins two other cannabis sellers in the county, Ayr (formerly Garden State) in Eatontown and Zen Leaf in Neptune. Those companies also offer both recreational and medical cannabis.
The business is woman-owned, minority-owned and locally-owned, its owners say.
It focuses on "safe, legal access to cannabis for those in need," the owners say. It said the business centers around education and "stopping the stigma" - a practice the company characterizes as “dispensing wellness.”
“We are proud of our success to date, having constructed and opened our dispensary in just six months and serving medical cannabis patients for the past three months. We have already received over 200 five-star Google reviews and we are eager to extend that service to adult-use customers, providing safe, legal access to cannabis for all those in need,” said NJ Leaf’s CEO Ritesh Shah, a pharmacist.
“We are committed to not just serving our community, but also being part of it. To that end, we are proud to offer discounts to seniors, veterans, and government assistance recipients,” Shah said.
The dispensary is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Customers should note that the first and last hour of each day are reserved for registered New Jersey Medical Cannabis Program patients.
