Paper Shredding Events Planned Throughout Monmouth County

The events are meant to provide residents with a safe way to dispose of old documents and sensitive files, officials said.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners has announced the dates and locations for 16 paper shredding events that will be held throughout the county in 2025.

The events are meant to provide residents with a safe way to dispose of old documents and sensitive files.

County residents can shred up to 100 pounds at the events, officials said, which is equivalent to four office paper boxes, or four large-size trash bags.

All papers will be shredded on location in mobile trucks, and the event will end once the mobile trucks are full or at the event’s scheduled end time.

Large binder clips must be removed from documents, according to officials, though staples and paper clips can remain.

“My fellow commissioners and I are happy to once again partner with our municipalities to provide residents with multiple opportunities to safely dispose of old paperwork,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Reclamation Center.

“These free events help residents clear out clutter and protect sensitive information—like bank statements, medical records, legal documents, and utility bills—from identity theft,” Arnone continued. “I’d like to thank our municipal partners for their role in offering this valuable service to our residents in 2025.”

With the exception of the July 14 event (which will run from 4-8 p.m.), all of the 2025 shredding events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
