Route 33 Bridge Closure In Freehold Extended Until April: NJDOT

The Route 33 bridge over the Conrail railroad tracks in Freehold will remain closed for several more months​ as emergency repairs continue.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Route 33 bridge over Conrail railroad in Freehold will remain closed for several more months as emergency repairs continue, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

Road closures began on Dec. 22 for repairs to the bridge, east of Jerseyville Avenue. As the bridge "is in worse condition than expected," repairs will continue until at least April, the NJ Department of Transportation said.

Work is expected to begin in several weeks and will take place 24 hours a day, except on Monday and Wednesday due to the railroad schedule.

Route 33 Business/Park Avenue westbound detour:
• Motorists on Route 33 Business/Park Avenue westbound will be directed to turn left
onto the ramp for Halls Mill Road/CR 55 south
• Take the ramp to Route 33 westbound
• Take the ramp to Route 79 northbound/South Street
• Turn right onto Route 33 Business/Park Avenue

• Motorists on Route 33 Business/Park Avenue eastbound will be directed to turn right onto Route 79 southbound/South Street
• Turn left onto Willow Brook Road
• Turn left to take the ramp onto Route 33 eastbound
• Take the ramp to Halls Mill Road/CR 55 north
• Take the ramp to Route 33 Business/Park Avenue
