FREEHOLD BOROUGH, NJ — The Freehold Borough Participatory Budgeting Committee has announced the winning theme for this year’s participatory budgeting contest.
Each year, Freehold Borough residents or business owners 14 years old or older are eligible to submit project ideas for participatory budgeting that meet local needs in the borough.

In January, the committee asked community members to vote on a theme for this year’s contest. Theme options included infrastructure and public works, arts, health and safety, or technology.
All submissions for this year’s contest will need to meet the winning theme, with the runner-up theme options set for future years.
