“From chasing fireflies to gazing at the stars, there’s something magical about a family camping trip,” officials said. “And there’s no better place for one than the Monmouth County Park System’s family campground in Turkey Swamp Park.”

For those who want to stay at the park, guests can check out the campground’s three cabins, which have two rooms each and feature a double bed, two sets of bunk beds, as well as lights and electrical outlets.

Outside of each cabin is a water spigot and picnic area with a fire pit. The cabins also offer air conditioning and one of the cabins is ADA-accessible, officials said. Each cabin costs $85 per night or $430 per week.

When it comes to campground activities, officials said the park features a lake where visitors can bring or rent canoes, kayaks, rowboats and paddleboats.

Rentals are available on weekends starting Saturday, May 3, and will be available daily starting Saturday, June 14. Visitors with an NJ fishing license (under age 16 license not required) can try their luck with the bass, crappie, catfish and bluegills that call the lake home.

The park also offers picnic areas with charcoal grills, four playgrounds, over eight miles of multi-use trails and plenty of open space.

Reservations are available for stays of at least two nights (Friday through Sunday) and three nights on holiday weekends.

To make a reservation, you can go through the online reservation system available on the Monmouth County Parks System’s campgrounds page, go in person at the Campground Office located in the park’s Oak Point Shelter Building, or call 732-462-7286.
