U.S. Army To Use Freehold Little League Field As Landing Pad: Borough

The U.S. Army is slated to land in Freehold as part of a national guard drill, borough officials said Tuesday.

FREEHOLD, NJ - Members of the U.S. Army is slated to drop down in Freehold as part of a national guard drill, officials said Tuesday.

In a notice to residents posted to social media, Freehold Borough noted that the scheduled Nov. 3 drill will involve practice helicopter landings on the Freehold Borough Little League Field.

“Please do not be alarmed with any helicopter activity in the area,” officials said.

The drill is set to take place between 9 and 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Otterson Road field, in which a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter will pick up personnel in two rounds for transport to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

No disruption to traffic is expected, borough officials said.
