Woman Charged In Casino Fight ID’d As Monmouth Co. Corrections Officer

Keila Diaz, 47, of Freehold, was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault following the Atlantic City fight on Sunday.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The woman charged with assaulting a couple at an Atlantic City casino on Sunday has been identified as a Monmouth County corrections officer.

Keila Diaz, 47, of Freehold, was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault after she and the man with her, Damian Pineyro, 35, of Hazlet, attacked another couple at the Quarter at Tropicana.

According to the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, Diaz graduated from the police academy in 2014, and records show that she earns an annual salary of $64,288.

On Wednesday, Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden told Patch that Diaz has been suspended without pay and is "expected to be held fully accountable for her actions."

“This type of behavior is inexcusable from anyone, but, particularly from a member of law enforcement, who at all times, on or off duty, should exhibit the highest level of professionalism, with honor and integrity,” Golden said. “Any conduct that does not meet that expectation will not be tolerated.”

In the video, you can see multiple people get involved in the fight.

At one point, someone hits a woman on the ground over the head with a pizza box before another person starts dragging the woman by her hair.
