Woman Dies Following 4-Vehicle Crash In Freehold Township, Police Say

The crash occurred on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Siloam Road, police said.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman has died following a four-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning, Freehold Township Police Lt. Joseph Winowski told Patch.

At 9:38 a.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the intersection of Monmouth Road and Siloam Road for a serious crash involving four vehicles.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they saw a person trapped inside one of the vehicles and severely injured, Winowski said.

A MEDEVAC was then requested and the vehicle occupant, identified as a 73-year-old woman from Whiting, was flown to an area hospital. She was later pronounced deceased, Winowski said.

The crash is currently under investigation by Patrolman William Sabin and the Freehold Township Police Department's Serious Crash Reconstruction Unit.
