1. Spend a festive day at Historic Smithville.

Just down the road from Galloway, Historic Smithville turns into a classic winter backdrop throughout December, with cobblestone paths, lake views and a full lineup of seasonal traditions. Visitors can explore extended holiday shopping hours, from late-November through Dec. 24, and enjoy favorites like the Light Show on the Lake every evening from 5:30 to 8:30. The schedule also includes long-running events such as Dickens Fest, the Magic Talking Tree and weekend s’mores by the campfire (weather permitting).

2. Warm up with seasonal treats at Cook’s Corner.

While you’re in Smithville, stop into Cook’s Corner offers a cozy break with gourmet coffee, teas, hot chocolate and specialty foods. A town staple since 1980, the shop has gained fans for its small-batch coffee roasting and shelves full of kitchenwares and gifts, making it a natural stop during holiday shopping. Visitors often linger over the aroma of fresh brews before browsing cookie jars, teapots and other unique finds.


3. Go ice skating at Skate Zone Atlantic City.

If you’re looking for a classic winter outing, the Atlantic City Skate Zone offers public skating sessions throughout the week in a full NHL-sized arena. The winter calendar at Stockton Performing Arts Center brings an array of festive performances to the Galloway campus. December highlights include The Leevees Hanukkah and the Stockton Holiday Choral Concert on Dec. 7, followed by The Nutcracker by Atlantic City Ballet on Dec. 12–13. Additional shows like Sing in the Holidays on Dec. 14 and a big-band rendition of A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 15 offer something for every age and taste.
