$25 Pet Adoptions In Atlantic County During Heart Health Month

Did you know pets can help improve heart health? The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is lowering adoption prices for Hearth Health Month.

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — February is American Heart Health Month. And in honor of this, the Atlantic County Animal Shelter is dropping pet adoption prices to $25 for Feb. 10 through 20.

According to the American Heart Association, pets can help you reduce stress, boost mood, get more exercise, and lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Dog owners in particular may benefit from additional exercise from dog walks and playtime activities.

Normal adoption prices are $110 for dogs and $85 for cats.

All pets adopted from the shelter include mandatory sterilization, age-appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and a free veterinary consultation. Adopted dogs also receive free obedience classes.

The shelter, located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville, is open to the public by appointment seven days a week, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
