Adoption Fees Reduced For Clear The Shelter Event In Atlantic Co.
The Atlantic County Animal Shelter's fees will be reduced to $25 and waived for senior pets during the annual "Clear the Shelters" event.
PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — If you’re looking to adopt a new pet, the Atlantic County Animal Shelter has a deal for you.
During the annual “Clear the Shelters” event from Aug. 23 to Sept. 19, the shelter’s fees will be reduced to $25 and waived for senior pets that are seven and older.
The Atlantic County Animal Shelter offers canines and felines of all ages, sizes and temperaments, and on occasion purebred dogs and cats become available for adoption.

“If you’re looking for a pet, this is a perfect opportunity,” said Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson. “The significant savings should serve as an attractive incentive.”
Regular adoption fees at the shelter range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies and include mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation.

Canines adopted from the shelter are also provided free obedience classes.
“We invite the public to make an appointment to stop by our shelter at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville to meet the wonderful animals in our care that are anxious to find forever homes,” said shelter manager Kathy Kelsey.
Appointments can be made at 609-285-2345 and are available from 1 to 4 p.m. daily except for Tuesdays when appointments can be made 1 to 3 p.m.
This marks the sixth year the Atlantic County Animal Shelter is participating in the nationwide pet adoption drive sponsored by NBC Universal that has resulted in nearly 500 successful adoptions from its facility and more than 551,000 across the country.
