Pedestrian Killed, Another Injured In Galloway Crash

Accident happened near Aloe Street and South Orleans Avenue, police said.

GALLOWAY, NJ - An unidentified woman was killed and another injured when they were struck by a car while they were walking near Aloe Street and South Orleans Avenue on Monday evening,Patrolman Ronald Gorneau said.

The unidentified woman's name is being withheld pending notification of her family, he said.

The accident happened at 5:46 p.m. The woman and Elizabeth Thompson, 27, Egg Harbor City were walking when for an unknown reason, the unidentified woman fell into the roadway. Both were struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Lynn M. Stadtmueller, 33, Egg Harbor City, who was traveling east on Aloe Street near New Orleans Avenue.

Thompson was taken to Atlantic Regional Medical Center, City Division, for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The unidentified female was pronounced deceased on scene, Gorneau said.

Stadtmueller was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation, he said.
