Police Identify New Lisbon Center Woman Killed In Hit And Run

Janis Ammlung, 56, died on Friday after she was struck by an unidentified vehicle, state police say



WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ – The New Jersey State Police have identified the woman who was killed in a hit and run crash here on Aug. 3.

Janis Ammlung, 56, a resident of the New Lisbon Developmental Center, a home to men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities here, died at Deborah Medical Center in Browns Mills after the 1 p.m. accident on Friday, state police say.

Police are asking for the public's help to find a dark-colored vehicle with possible front end damage. The vehicle was traveling on the center property. Ammlung entered the roadway at the intersection of Gilbert and Kester streets when she was hit by the vehicle, which left the scene immediately after the crash, police said.

Ammlung was taken to Deborah Medical Center in Browns Mills, where she was pronounced dead.
