Reward Offered For Information In South Jersey Hit-And-Run Fatal

State police want to know who hit and killed Janis Ammlung, 56, a resident of the New Lisbon Developmental Center in Woodland Township.

WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ - Someone out there struck and killed Janis Ammlung on the afternoon of Aug. 3 and the New Jersey State Police want to know who did it.

So the Human Services Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the driver who struck her, then left the scene, according to the State Police Facebook page.

Ammlung, 56, was a resident of the New Lisbon Developmental Center, a home to men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities here.

Ammlung entered the roadway at the intersection of Gilbert and Kester streets at 1 p.m. on Aug. 3, and was hit by a dark-colored vehicle traveling on center property. The vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash, police said.

The vehicle, possibly a sedan or sport utility vehicle, may have front end or windshield damage, police said. Ammlung was taken to Deborah Medical Center in Browns Mills, where she was pronounced dead.
