WATCH: 50-Foot Christmas Tree Lights Up Atlantic City Boardwalk

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — For the second year in a row, the Atlantic City Boardwalk is lit up by a live Christmas tree.

The 50-foot balsam fir, adorned with 8,000 lights, set the boardwalk aglow on Nov. 28 during a special ceremony packed with free and festive family fun, courtesy of Showboat Atlantic City.

The evening included toy giveaways, games and rides, and free hot cocoa along with craft vendors and photos with Santa.

Last year, Showboat AC owner Bart Blatstein made history when he lit up the boardwalk's first-ever live Christmas tree.

The ceremony marked the beginning of Showboat AC's Holiday Extravaganza on the Boardwalk, continuing each Saturday and Sunday throughout the holiday season.

And starting on Nov. 27 throughout all of December, visitors can enjoy Showboat's Christmas Polar Bear Express & Bar, a free, immersive holiday experience. It'll be open daily from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., and opening at 12 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Holiday magic comes alive with thousands of twinkling lights, life-sized polar bear displays, a lane of Christmas trees and other holiday décor.

Kids can enjoy activities like decorating ornaments and stockings to take home, while adults can unwind in the decked out private speakeasy, indulging in holiday bar specials while listening to live music.

The tree lighting is at Boardwalk at entrance of Showboat Atlantic City, 801 Boardwalk, and the Polar Bar Express & Bar is located in Scarduzio's restaurant space on promenade across from the Lucky Snake arcade. Showboat Atlantic City, 801 Boardwalk.
