• Ridgewood earns a Blue Ribbon (essexnewsdaily.com) — Ridgewood Avenue School in Glen Ridge has been named a 2025 New Jersey Blue Ribbon School, the first in town history to earn this top state honor. Acting Principal Kiesha Harris and Acting Superintendent Winnie Kievit accepted the recognition in Trenton, crediting strong test scores, dedicated teachers, and community support. School leaders are planning a spring celebration so families can share in the achievement.

Bruce Dold, Chicago Tribune publisher and Pulitzer recipient, dies at 70 (bostonglobe.com) — A former Glen Ridge resident, Robert Bruce Dold, who grew up here after being born in Newark, went on to lead the Chicago Tribune as editor-in-chief and publisher and win a Pulitzer Prize. His long career included reshaping the paper’s editorial voice, challenging Illinois’ child welfare system, and guiding journalists through the industry’s turbulent digital transition.
   

• Tom Malinowski prevails in vote for Morris Dems' endorsement in CD-11 (northjersey.com) — A Glen Ridge resident, Analilia Mejia, placed a strong third in the Morris County Democrats’ endorsement vote for the special election to replace Mikie Sherrill in Congress. Former Rep. Tom Malinowski ultimately secured the endorsement after nine rounds of ranked-choice voting. The outcome shapes a key February primary that includes several Essex County communities alongside Glen Ridge.
